Yes, I AM Thankful.

I know the pic is kinda dark, but I'm pleased with my progress. I ran out of the grey I was using so I switched to a close-but-no-cigar grey. I think it works just fine, though. How's everybody else doing? What are you all thankful for?

Wreathed in Smiles

So October's offering is completed. I've been at work on November--pretty, isn't it? I like the word thankful stitched into it. I am running out of barn red so I guess I'll have to order more. I like that this piece is moving right along. I planned to stay one month at a time and it's staying like that. It helps to know that a block can be completed in a few hours' time so catching up isn't as daunting as it might otherwise be.

This Little Piggy Went a-Stitchin!

Well, go figure. I've been keeping up with the monthly stitching, but I forgot to post. I even thought I had posted the August offering! Ah, well. My proudest accomplishment here is the topper ribbon that has almost made it all the way to this month's offering.


So here's August. I really like the little crab. He's got personality. I think he should have a name. How 'bout Shmooie? Shmooie the crab!

And September's County Fair. How cute is that little piggy? I think he should be called porcellus balloonicus. Okay, I got the idea from some doctor who was looking for names for the middle toes. You know, there's the big toe and the pinky toe, but the others were anonymous. So he wiped the slate clean and came up with new names for all five. I think they are lovely offerings:

• porcellus fori (the little piggy who went to market)
• porcellus domi (the little piggy who stayed home)
• porcellus carnivorus (the little piggy who ate roast beef)
• porcellus non voratus (the little piggy who had none)
• and porcellus plorans domum (the little piggy who cried wee! wee! wee! all the way home.)

More stitching completed

I have finally completed my May and June squares for the Red Thread. I have also stitched much more of the border, but have forgotton to photograph it. So here is the latest stitching.

I thought about how to finish it for quite a while, and finally decided to make it into a draft dodger.

Here is the whole thing finished! I put more pictures, and a little tutorial on my website if anyone is interested.

July Finish

Okay, so the picture doesn't quite show the last three stitches, but it's done. I promise.

I am excited now that the end is in sight!
I have put aside all other projects to finish this up.
